I hate writing these letters, and I'm never sure if I'm being helpful or just obnoxious (but if my recipient doesn't write one, I totally panic.) So, generally speaking, I like gen and het and slash, character development and plot. I'm not a fan of PWPs or excessive sex scenes that don't fit with the story. BDSM makes me laugh and character deaths make me cry. I like angst and hurt/ comfort and happy endings. I love AUs, as long as the characters stay true. I once shot someone for misplacing an apostrophe. (Not really.)
My fandoms this year:
I love both this series and her Mercy Thompson one. I've loved Mercy/ Adam since the beginning, and I also really love Charles/ Anna. But I'm very curious about Bran and Leah, too-- I'd like to see more of their relationship, particularly Bran's view of Leah, because I got the impression that he was more sympathetic toward her than the other characters realized. If you need an idea, I'd love to see a "Mercy brings Adam to Montana for Christmas" type thing, in which Mercy and Bran and Leah (and Charles/ Anna if you like), sort of confront their issues and come to terms with one another, and Adam has to mediate.
I really love how Mircea's slowly been developed as a character in both series. I love him with Cassie--but also his screwed up relationship with Dorina. I'd really like to see what happens when Dory meets Cassie. Maybe some kind of action fic, where they all have to work together?
I fell in love with Reisden a long, long time ago. Really, anything you want to write about him will make me happy. Reisden and Andre as schoolboys. Reisden and Tasy. Reisden and Dotty. Reisden and Perdita and Toby and Gilbert, dealing with WWI.
I was so excited to see these books were nominated. It had never occurred to me someone else might have read them.
